The team is looking for someone who work on a team that drives and supports strategic direction and enablement across Hot Topic’s corporate applications. This person will be working on a number of high-profile projects and collaborating with key partners to design and build solutions that enable the business to gain insights needed for decision-making. 

To be successful in this role you will need to have strong analytical thinking skills with great client facing oral and written communication skills to help you understand, document, recommend and implement approaches that will help grow the Hot Topic business.

This role is based at our Headquarters in City of Industry, CA or remote in US. #BI-Remote

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Rationalize and steward areas of data discovery, data quality and accuracy, data modelling, data integration and data movement within Hot Topic.
  • Understand data flows between transactional systems (RMS, OMS, WMS, POS, etc.)
  • Own solution improvement projects such as the data reconciliation checks and balances
  • Migrate enterprise workloads to Snowflake using industry-standard as well as proprietary methodologies.
  • Deliver quality results in cross-functional work environments and teams.
  • Responsible for issue resolution, analysis for root cause, communication and deliverables around all issues and environments
  • Drive requirements into technical solutions and contribute to design sessions and technical solutions.
  • Provide clear and immediate communication and consultation on requirements within all parties in the business and IT resources on all technology related procedures
  • Determine additional technology requirements and data infrastructure needs to support growing business requirements.
  • Works on creation and maintenance according to all systems of process maps, data models, user manuals and any likewise documentation.
  • Create change documentation and identify process and system improvements, best practices and other performance enhancing ideas.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • A minimum of 5+ years of recent experience as a cloud data lake/data warehouse architect, designer or developer.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience supporting and/or leading projects relating to cloud modernization, data migration, data warehousing experience with cloud based data platforms  (i.e. Snowflake)
  • Strong ability to write, analyze and debug SQL queries that range in difficulty from simple to complex
  • Experience in driving technical workshops with technical and business partners/clients to derive value added services and implementations
  • Experience with Robling data model and/or Looker preferred
  • Experience with SSRS and SSIS will be an add-on
  • Experience using analytics to  measure success, present opportunities and support decision making
  • Bachelor’s Degree in areas related to Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
