As the Social Media Coordinator at Hot Topic you’ll be asked to binge-watch the latest season of the newest Anime, watch the most recent Superhero movie and listen to the latest up & coming bands… then brainstorm an Instagram Story around it! We are looking for someone obsessed with music, pop culture, fashion, technology and the latest social media trends. The Social Media Coordinator will provide administrative support and coordination to the Social Media team with daily operations and implementation of marketing projects and campaigns on social media, ensuring creative and communications reflect the brands of the Company accurately. 

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Schedule, publish and tag daily content on all social media channels
  • Work closely with web content and merchandising team to ensure merchandising is completed for each social link
  • Coordinate samples for content production and influencer marketing
  • Coordinate and execute sweepstakes prizing and fulfillment
  • Partner with Social team on user-generated content; gain user approvals, approve and schedule UGC
  • Responsible for social media campaign and content reporting and tracking
  • Partner with copywriting and social media team to ensure all external communications and copy are on brand
  • Brainstorm new and creative ways to amplify content, increase engagement and activate influencers

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • BA in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications or equivalent preferred
  • 1 to 2 years prior social media marketing experience or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications
  • Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and InDesign, preferred
  • Experience with Facebook and Instagram Insights
  • Strong communication skills including ability to work in a team environment, give honest, direct feedback and is a solid verbal and written communicator
  • Strong ability to multi-task and seamlessly move from project to project with attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of industry trends and demonstrated knowledge and proven ability to identify marketing opportunities
  • Passion and open mind regarding music, pop culture and fashion trends
  • Meets deadlines, prioritizes appropriately, copes well with change and maintains composure under pressure
  • Is accountable for results, approaches obstacles proactively and looks for ways to resolve problems and issues
  • Open to working nights and weekends
  • Ability to travel to events (when deemed safe)
