Paying da bills. If you’ve done Accounts Payable, you know there’s so much more that goes into it than just cutting a check or scheduling a payment. We’re in search of an Accounts Payable Merchandise Associate that will analyze and resolve discrepancies for invoices entered into the Merchandise invoice matching system. We don’t underestimate the importance of the AP function, so you’ll have the support you need in an environment that leads to happy people.
Pay range is $19.00-$20.25/hr.
Please note the pay range for this position starts as listed in the job posting, but other factors such as an individual’s education, location, meeting the minimum job requirements for the role, training, and experience, will determine the final salary for potential new hires.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Pay the bills; you’ll enter, match, and pay Merchandise invoices promptly and accurately.
- Clarify any questionable invoice items, such as cost and quantity.
- Anticipate needs and resolves issues promptly to ensure timely payment of vendor invoices.
- Partner with our vendors, distribution centers, and buyers to resolve any concerns.
- Assist with research and reconciliation of vendor statements and support internal/external audits and reviews, as needed.
- Reconcile vendor statements against vendor invoices and be able to identify discrepancies.
- Monitor AP Inbox, perform other duties as assigned.
- Work closely with the team on special projects and ad hoc requests, as needed.
- Identify areas of opportunity for process improvement and recommend solutions.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Paper stack: High School diploma or GED.
- 1-2 years of previous high-volume accounting and accounts payable experience in retail environment preferred.
- Excel wiz status; you’ll bring chops in Excel and AP retail merchandising software.
- Comfortable working in a fast paced, high-volume position.
- Relevant knowledge of AP functions, three-way match and processing in an ERP system such as Oracle, Lawson and/or inventory system.
- Accuracy and attention to detail; you sweat the small stuff when it comes to numbers, 10 - key is a plus!
- Strong communication skills including ability to work in a team environment, give honest, direct feedback and is a solid verbal and written communicator with vendor requests.
- Meets deadlines, prioritizes appropriately, copes well with change, and maintains composure under pressure.
