We're looking for an Associate Buyer who is goal oriented and highly entrepreneurial to join our team! You'll support the DMM in recognizing current trends and develop compelling assortments to meet business objectives. This role is part creative, part analytical and all collaboration. 


  • Achieve sales and margin objectives for seasonal buying plans; reach product objective quotas as defined by DMM
  • Develop market analyses and business strategies to outline strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in the fashion market; evaluate market continuously to revise our strategies
  • Execute balanced assortment by strategically selecting and purchasing products from vendor lines to create and enhance assortments based on trend data and partnering with Product Development team to develop product including sourcing and monitoring delivery of product and quality control
  • Analyze and negotiate proposals for product based on trend, price, delivery time, and quality to select the most appropriate vendors
  • Partners with Planning and Allocation teams to ensure the development of appropriate assortment plans
  • Facilitates strong working relationship between corresponding merchandising teams and the field organization
  • Develop and maintain assortment plans and continuously assesses market to identify and react to trends
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Vendors, Distribution Center, Planning and Allocation, Marketing and Internet teams
  • Regularly attends fashion events to remain keen on current trends – fashion, music, culture, and other innovations regarding fashion


  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree
  • 1-2 years of progressive experience as an Associate Buyer - developing, preparing, and implementing tactical plans in support of strategic company goals; E-commerce & Non-Apparel buying experience a plus and previous product development experience is helpful
  • A proven track record developing and building the apparel/accessory business, including developing and maintaining strong vendor relationships
  • Experience in developing, preparing, and implementing tactical plans in support of strategic company goals
  • Experience and ability to identify trends in the contemporary fashion market (apparel/accessories)
  • Deep analytical and quantitative skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Solid computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
