eCommerce is where it’s at! Here at Hot Topic we are doing big things in the space. We are looking to add a motivated and collaborative individual to help us dive into the Advertising world within eCommerce. This role will strategically identify partnerships with external organizations to drive advertising revenue, marketing opportunities and visibility to partners’ customers. this person will identify, develop and maintain partnerships responsible of P&L of our newly created advertising revenue division. The advertising placement could include:  email advertising, eCommerce site/mobile app, social media, event or sale coupons, and in-store advertising.  This position reports to the SVP of eCommerce with a close working relationship with the HT/BL/HU heads of Marketing

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Lead the charge in direct advertising and media sales, with an advertising agency or in-house advertising/marketing team
  • Identify and build mutually-beneficial business partnerships
  • Develop innovative and creative ideas for increasing sales
  • Develop overall budget and manage advertising dollars within the budget
  • Build an aggressive and detailed strategy and drive for success
  • Have financial literacy to build a compelling sales presentation
  • Partner with marketing and creative teams to develop artwork and placement
  • Navigate the complexities of cross-organizational contracts
  • Performs other job duties as needed.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Associates degree in Communications, Business, Marketing, Finance or related field
  • Sales experience, including cold-calling and account development 
  • Minimum 2 years of previous experience in advertising sales
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including ability to work in a team environment
  • Persuasion and ability to articulate a win-win scenario
  • Dedicated to meeting requirements of internal and external partners, responding to all requests promptly and thoroughly
  • Inquisitiveness and open mind regarding pop culture, teen music and fashion trends
  • Meets deadlines, prioritizes appropriately, copes well with change, and maintains composure under pressure
  • Accountable for results, approaches obstacles proactively and looks for ways to resolve problems and issues
  • Regular travel may be expected to deliver sales presentations and enhance effective business relationships
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend and lift/move up to 10 pounds.  May lift/move up to 30 pounds occasionally
