WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Manage the procurement of non-merchandise products and services, supplies, maintenance contracts and capital equipment/fixtures
  • Negotiate with existing and new sources to ensure optimal pricing, order quantities, service levels, quality specifications and inventory targets are attained
  • Review and release purchase orders including PO revisions and vendor management
  • Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for compliance with the Company’s operating policies and procedures
  • Provide analysis of RFP responses for management review including pricing models, cost/price analysis, and return on investment. You'll serve as a liaison between departments and vendors and ensure a smooth process
  • Develop and implement purchasing guidelines that ensure we are procuring materials at market prices or below
  • Develop policies and procedures and ensures department compliance of Sarbanes-Oxley regulations. While you’re at it, you’ll also develop product/service specifications for vendor compliance
  • Oversee the implementation of store special projects and ensures deadlines are met
  • Lead and develop a team of Purchasing Agents; you realize that your success is collectively, and invest the appropriate time and effort in mentoring your group
  • Manage or arrange for the disposal of surplus materials
  • Propose improvements to current processes and improve vendor relationships
  • Develop metrics for gauging inventory level needs enabling maintenance of appropriate inventory throughout the year

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related a plus
  • At least 5 years’ progressive experience in purchasing
  • Strong leadership skills demonstrating leading a team to success
  • Lawson, purchasing application knowledge beneficial
  • CPSM or CPM credentials a plus
  • Professional composure. Able to interact with every department of the company with staff at every level
