We are looking for a dynamic Payroll Analyst to join our team! This role is responsible for all payroll accounting and payroll tax compliance. 

Pay range is $75,000-$85,000.

Please note the pay range for this position starts as listed in the job posting, but other factors such as an individual’s education, location, meeting the minimum job requirements for the role, training and experience, will determine the final salary for potential new hires.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Manages the payroll taxes, accounting journal entries, account reconciliations, and GL reporting
  • Ensure continuous process improvement; consistently solve problems to streamline processes to work more seamlessly. Identify areas of improvement to maintain measurements of effectiveness on current processes against benchmark metrics
  • Assists senior manager with review of payroll processes to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions
  • Coordinates efforts between payroll, HR, and store operations to ensure proper flow of communication, SOX narratives, trainings, roll outs and maintenance of employee data
  • Works with Payroll Admins to ensure employees are assigned to the correct taxing authority
  • Performs quarterly and annual reconciliations of Federal and State tax filings, including annual W-2’s
  • Reviews checks for approval. Load daily positive pay and electronic ACH’s. Balance totals, catch variances. Run daily reports on ACH returns and reject fraudulent checks that might come through in Wells Fargo
  • Works in partnership with Payroll Senior Manager to ensure compliance with applicable government regulations, including the timeliness and accuracy of required reporting and assessment of fees
  • Special projects and ad hoc reporting, as needed

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Associate degree in accounting or related disciplines. CPP is preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years of multi-state payroll experience, preferably in retail industry
  • Strong MS Excel and payroll processing skills
  • Solid math and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
