Hot Topic is looking for hands on experienced Program Manager to head up our project management office. The responsibilities of the PMO Manager include managing the day-to-day activities in the PMO, institute and provide guidance on PMO policies and processes, overseeing project management staff, and collaborating with other department leaders to develop projects and programs. To be successful as a PMO Manager, you should demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills. You’ll play a crucial role in the business and across our family of brands: Hot Topic, BoxLunch, and Her Universe.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Supervising project management staff, providing guidance on project management processes and policies and working with associates on professional development
  • Establishing project management processes, guidelines, metrics, controls and templates to effectively manage and measure project success
  • Collaborating with other department leaders to define, prioritize, and develop projects
  • Planning project management, including setting deadlines, prioritizing tasks, and assigning team members to various deliverables
  • Analyzing financial data, including project budgets, risks, and resource allocation
  • Providing financial reports and budget outlines to Executives and the project management discipline within Hot Topic
  • Overseeing multiple programs and projects and ensuring team members are carrying out their tasks efficiently while upholding the company's standards
  • Drafting new and improving existing project management office policies and processes
  • Continuously evaluating projects to ensure they are meeting company standards, adhering to budgets, and meeting deadlines
  • Accurately documenting the project's creation, development, and execution as well as documenting the project's scope, budget, and justification
  • Oversees and works to resolve issues that serve as roadblocks and/or place project objectives at risk. Identifies and provides visibility into trade-offs between options, while strongly influencing recommended approach
  • Hires, develops, provides coaching to, and makes compensation recommendations for team members. Defines individual performance objectives and development plans, and ensures alignment with department, function and objectives

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Administration, or a related field
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is a plus
  • A minimum of five years' experience managing projects
  • A minimum of five years' experience in the retail
  • One plus years’ experience in a supervisory is a plus
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to details and technicalities
  • Excellent organizational and technical skills
  • Good interpersonal and multi-tasking skills
