We are looking for a Brand Marketing Specialist II that will ideate, execute and recap marketing programs & initiatives which result in effective marketing strategies that uphold Hot Topic as the ultimate music, fashion and pop culture destination.
Pay range
$60,000 - $72,000 a year
Please note the pay range for this position starts as listed in the job posting, but other factors such as an individual’s education, location, meeting the minimum job requirements for the role, training and experience, will determine the final salary for potential new hires.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Support the execution of brand marketing initiatives across various areas including marketing campaigns, merchandise launches, events, PR, signage and general store marketing, while taking ownership of assigned workstreams.
• Execute omni-channel marketing campaigns for various merchandise programs such as Music, DTR, license, and seasonal/trend launches and make day-to-day decisions regarding campaign execution, timelines, and cross functional coordination to ensure successful delivery. Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver campaigns aligned to established brand and business strategies.
• Partner with Merchant and PD teams on merchandise deliveries, line sheets and photo/marketing samples, ensuring timely and accurate execution of campaign deliverables.
• Contribute to the development of marketing plans and pitches through research, insights gathering, brainstorm sessions, and preparation of supporting materials (e.g., one sheets, signage, etc.).
• Develop campaign and creative briefs to outline merchandise and marketing programs and needs. Partner with appropriate stakeholders to accurately communicate marketing plans, set directives and execute, applying judgement to resolve issues, clarify requirements, and adjust deliverables as needed.
• Partner with Creative Services, Photo and Video teams to coordinate photo and video shoots as needed. Ensure Creative Director, traffic manager & graphic design team are aware of pertinent content/character details and information which will enhance the overall editorial images & campaign.
• Coordinate PR partnership activities, including outreach, talentlogisitcs, samples coordination, scheduling, budget tracking/payment to ensure smooth execution.
• Recap internal and external partner campaigns, consoloidating performance data and results from all pertinent internal functions to deliver clear summaries and insights, including identifying trends and making recommendations to improve future campaign performance. .
• Stay up to date with music, pop culture, fashion trends, industry and competitor news to support campaign execution and effectiveness.
• Conduct administrative services, such as write up and track PO requests, submission of invoices for payment, Workfront, signage requests, samples request, etc.
• Perform other job duties and support of Brand Marketing department as needed.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
• BA in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications or equivalent preferred.
• 2 to 5 years prior marketing experience or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications.
• Interest in music, pop culture, and fashion.
• Solid written and verbal communication skills. Ability to convey marketing messages and information effectively and accurately.
• Ability to work in a team environment, interface with various departments and personalities.
• Resourceful. Strong problem solving skills and the ability to work in a quick, fast paced environment.
• Ability to follow-through on assignments with minimal supervision.
• Time management and multi-tasking skills. Strong ability to multi-task and seamlessly move from project to project.
• Detail oriented and organized.
• Ability to think creatively and help contribute to marketing campaigns and event strategies.
• Willingness to learn. Inquisitiveness and open mind regarding music, fashion and pop culture.
• Meets deadlines, prioritizes appropriately, copes well with change, and maintains composure under pressure.
• Regularly required to sit, stand, bend and lift/move up to 10 pounds. May lift/move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Regular travel is not expected though travel for events, conventions, activations and project rollouts will be required.
