As the Associate Manager, Social Media at Hot Topic you’ll manage social media content and community with the Social Media Content team and Community Specialist to oversee all campaigns ensuring creative and communications reflect the Company accurately.


  • Oversee strategy and development of all social platforms and communities
  • Manage content strategy and development for all social channels including and not limited to, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest ensuring all outbound content is aligned with marketing campaigns and company goals
  • Identify and brainstorm new and creative opportunities for growth, partnerships, content amplification and increased engagement
  • Oversee all community engagement and identify processes for sharing relevant social inbound content with respective teams
  • Manage Sr. Social Media Specialists, Coordinator and Community Specialist
  • Responsible for tracking and reporting social media KPIs to key partners and cross-functional teams
  • Identify opportunities to adjust or pivot strategies, tactics and content as needed
  • Partner with Associate Manager of Influencer Marketing to activate influencers and content creators for product launches, campaigns and seasonal beats, with an emphasis and focus on the branded content
  • Manage relationships with external partners, keeping up with key deadlines and deliverables for social programs
  • Stay up to date on competitors and where trends are going, as well as social and community best practices; identify areas of opportunity for social


  • BA in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications or equivalent preferred
  • 4 to 5 years prior social media marketing experience or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications
  • Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and InDesign, preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all social media channels and respective analytical tools
  • Passion and desire to grow in a social media marketing career
  • Illustrates a dedication to meeting requirements of internal and external customers, responding to all customer requests promptly and thoroughly
  • Strong communication skills including ability to work in a team environment, give honest, direct feedback and is a solid verbal and written communicator
  • Strong ability to multi-task and seamlessly move from project to project
  • Strong understanding of industry trends and demonstrated knowledge and proven ability to identify marketing opportunities
  • Passion and open mind regarding music, pop culture and fashion trends
  • Meets deadlines, prioritizes appropriately, copes well with change and maintains composure under pressure
  • Is accountable for results, approaches obstacles proactively and looks for ways to resolve problems and issues
  • Open to working nights and weekends
  • Ability to travel to events
