Our success comes from high-caliber teams that love our product and have a tenacious approach to learning.  As an integral part of the Marketing team, the Brand Marketing Traffic Manager is the main conduit for all creative work that flows through the Hot Topic Marketing department. The position is responsible for driving the process from when the creative brief is received through final approvals and the release of finished artwork.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Drives all creative projects requested of the Hot Topic Marketing department and traffics through Workfront – Online management system
  • Receives and reviews all creative briefs submitted to the department, and receives input from various stakeholders and partners on the marketing team. Follows up with team submitting the brief regarding any missing or unclear information or direction
  • Works with Art Director to assign creative resources, then creates a detailed production schedule for each project
  • Works closely with graphic designers, copywriters, retouchers, photographers, print production, brand marketing and other team members as required to monitor and move all projects throughout the design and production process
  • Reviews daily work schedule with Art Director and Graphic design team
  • Publishes a weekly production status report to ensure complete and constant transparency and clarity across all team members of schedules and job status
  • Foresees potential scheduling and delivery conflicts early and proactively proposes solutions for resolution for review by Art Director and Vice President, Marketing
  • Assists brand marketing team in scheduling creative brief reviews, project kickoff meetings, pre-production meetings, and approval meetings when required
  • Manages internal routing of all concepts, layouts, artwork and digital proofs for review
  • Compiles design and copy feedback and relays those changes to design and copy teams
  • Makes sure all materials are properly signed off and approved by Art Director, Brand Manager and VP of Marketing – as well as other departments as needed
  • Works with the e-commerce team to ensure all daily web updates occur in a timely manner
  • Assists creative team in maintaining and archiving all files in an organized and consistent manner, including revision and final design files for all marketing efforts (e.g. store signage, window campaigns, e-commerce assets, e-mail, App, social media etc.)
  • Attends press checks when required and interfaces with our print vendors on projects
  • Partners with purchasing department to get print projects bid out, reviews pricing and substrates and shares findings with team for approval
  • Point person with our project management software partner (Workfront), oversees users needed year over year and other communication as needed
  • Performs other job duties as needed

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business Administration
  • 2-3 years of progressive traffic experience at an agency or in-house creative services department
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with experience in scheduling, resource allocation and management, and task dependencies
  • Understanding and experience with print and digital marketing
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines, while juggling multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Resourceful, with excellent problem-solving skills – must be able to foresee scheduling conflicts and take quick action when schedules go off course
  • Good verbal and written communication skill
  • Confident, with a positive disposition and ability to be calm under intense pressure, as well as firm or flexible as the situation requires
  • Team player with a can-do attitude, and with the ability to work independently or collaboratively with multiple people and/or teams
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, and project management tools
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Background in online asset/ project management system a major plus
